So, they work well for people at the beginning of their fitness journey and all the way up to professional athletes.

As long as you’re looking to follow a healthier lifestyle and are willing to make time for the workouts, you can benefit from taking group classes. Each one-hour class will leave you feeling accomplished while helping improve your physical and mental fitness by leaps and bounds.

What to Expect During CrossFit Workouts

At its core, CrossFit is high-intensity, interval training with a focus on improving strength, endurance, and mental fortitude. Each class will have you spending an hour working all the major muscle groups using a variety of fun movements.

The most popular CrossFit workouts include:

  • Deadlifts
  • Barbell squats
  • Wall ball
  • Pull ups
  • Kettlebell swings
  • Box jumps
  • Burpees

At each session, you’ll have a “workout of the day”, or WOD, to master, plus a variety of additional CrossFit exercises that complement that move.

Depending on what you’re doing, you can expect to go hard “every minute, on the minute”, or EMOM, to achieve your goals. Or you may go for “as many reps as possible”; also known as AMRAP in the crossfit community, to beat your personal record and keep moving the goalposts.
