Why Get a Personal Trainer?

If you’re struggling to feel motivated about your health and fitness, a personal trainer is a great option to get you out of the slump. People who haven't used personal trainers often think of drill sergeants; a whistle around their neck barking demands. This couldn’t be further from the truth!

PFT personal trainers are highly motivating, encouraging you to reach your full potential and achieve your fitness goals. Our personal fitness trainers know that capturing the motivation to work out may be the toughest part of a fitness plan.

Starting a fitness program can be very difficult. A personal trainer can help you do that. We’ll match our exercise program for your level.  We’ll set you up for success to achieve your desired result.

What Can a Personal Trainer Do for You?

A personal trainer will get your personal fitness training off the ground and flying high. The most important place to start a fitness regime, of course, is to set a goal so that your personal trainer will help you reach it.

PFT personal trainers use a holistic approach that teaches you various methods of personal fitness training that you can use long after your sessions are over.

Prior to beginning your personal training sessions, your trainer will perform a number of measurements in order to establish a baseline from which to compare your growth. For example, a trainer may request to measure your waist size and weight in order to calculate your Body Mass Index (BMI).

If strength training is a priority of yours, then a trainer might also measure how many push ups you can do in 30 seconds. He or she may also count how many jumping jacks in a minute, or how fast you can run in a given time period to develop a sense for your cardiovascular fitness.

These measurements are meant to not only inform you, but to also serve as a baseline. When your personal training sessions are complete, you can see just how far you’ve come.

Who Are Personal Trainers For?

Personal trainers are for everyone no matter your fitness level or goals. The four main fitness goals typically involve aerobic exercises for cardiovascular health, muscle strengthening, flexibility and body composition (losing weight).

These fitness goals are typical, but the people who choose them are not. When you hear the term “strength training” you may automatically picture an athletic, 25-year-old man who engages in bench presses, squats and power cleans

Truth is, men and women may lose muscle mass in the absence of strength training as they age. It is perfectly acceptable to begin your strength training program at very low weights.  Your personal trainer will probably insist on including stretching as a means to prevent diminished flexibility when you get older.
